The COVID-19 Pandemic, Trauma, and Grief (2 hours)
As a mental health professional, it's very likely that your clients are facing increased challenges to their emotional wellbeing as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to reverberate worldwide.
In addition to the many tragedies and disruptions, the methods by which we manage grief and loss have been upended as well. Human cultures have deeply ingrained traditions of honoring losses with family, friends, and communities, but in the era of social distancing, the long-established means by which we initiate and move through the grieving process have been changed or made impossible.
This professional training discusses normative and complicated grief, attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and clinical tools to facilitate the grieving process and resolve trauma, specifically in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Maternal Mental Health Intensive for Teens - MMHI4Teens (2 hours)
Pregnant and parenting adolescents experience mental health disorders, including depression, at over three times the rate of older mothers, and struggle with the dual stigmas of teen parenthood and mental illness. The Seleni Institute is combining its expertise in adolescent reproductive mental health with its nationally recognized Maternal Mental Health Intensive to launch the MMHI4teens.
